It’s with a heavy heart that we share the news of Angela McLaughlin’s passing—a moment that leaves us all deeply saddened. On February 14th, 2026, Angela peacefully departed this world, surrounded by the warmth and love of her devoted family in the comfort of her own home. But here’s where it gets emotional: as we reflect on her life, we’re reminded of the countless hearts she touched and the legacy she leaves behind.
Angela, formerly of 5 Rathlin Gardens and most recently of 39 Ballymagowan Avenue, was a beacon of love and strength. She is survived by her cherished children—Charlene, Eugene, Sean, Aoife, Caitlin, and Rhys—and her beloved in-laws Daniel, Dearbhaila, Kerry, Brendan, and Carrie. Her role as a granny to Chantelle, Ryan, Kacie, Kyle, Rian, Clodagh, Aoibheann, Beau, and Dara was one she held dear, filling their lives with joy and wisdom. Angela was also a much-loved sister to Michael, Marian, Eileen, Jeanette, Carmel, Danny, John, Cathy, Denis, Brian, and the late Collette. Her absence will be deeply felt by her nieces, nephews, extended family, and a circle of friends who adored her.
And this is the part most people miss: Angela’s life was a testament to the power of family bonds and the impact of a loving presence. Her home, 39 Ballymagowan Avenue, will open its doors for her repose starting tomorrow, Sunday, February 15th, at 3:30 pm. The funeral procession will depart from her home on Tuesday, February 17th, at 9:15 am, leading to a 10 am Requiem Mass at St. Mary’s Church, Creggan. A cremation service will follow at 3:30 pm at Lakeland’s Crematorium, Co. Cavan.
